Pelican Timing Services is a race timing company based out of Lafayette, LA. Our timers have 14 yrs of timing experience.

Pelican Timing Services offers professional timing using the latest technology for timing and scoring services for running, triathlons, duathlons, swimming and biking events throughout the South.

We utilize RFID ULTRA DISPOSABLE TIMING SYSTEMS for cycling, running, and multi sports race events.

Get ready to swim, bike, and run your way through an unforgettable experience! Join us on Saturday, August 16th for a fun and inclusive triathlon featuring:

200-Yard Swim (UL Bourgeois Pool)
8-Mile Bike Ride (2 Loops Along Cajundome Blvd)
2-mile run (1 Loop Cajundome Blvd/Reinhardt/Coliseum)

Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned athlete looking for a pre-race tune-up, this event is designed for all fitness levels. You can participate solo or team up for a relay, the choice is yours!


Only 350 spots are available, so don’t miss your chance to be part of a high-energy, supportive community event that promotes fitness, fun, and compassion. Your participation helps support local cancer patients and their families.

Packet Pick-Up:
All Triathlon participants can pick up packets from 12 pm - 6 pm on Friday, August 15th, outside UL Lafayette's Bourgeois Hall or Saturday morning prior to the race.  Packets will be available on race day, but it is strongly encouraged that all participants pick up prior to race day.

Triathlon Schedule: 
5:00am - Transition Area Opens (Outside UL Bourgeois Hall)
7:00am - Staggered Swim Start (UL Bourgeois Hall)

Race Reminder: 
The Triathlon starts at 7AM for ALL PARTICIPANTS. When selecting your swim time during registration, you are selecting how long it takes you to swim 200 yards, not what time you want to start the race.
For the safety of all participants, bike helmets are REQUIRED and no headphones or headsets are allowed on the race course.

Run The Bluff 5K - Saturday, 8/16/25 In Person Race

The race will be on August 16th at Southern University.  There will be a one mile run followed by the 5k.  The 1 mile run will start at 7:45 am and the 5k at 8:00.  Pre registration 6:00-7:30 am.

We're thrilled to invite you to the 10th Anniversary of Ryan’s Run/Walk on Saturday, August 23rd.  For a decade Ryan's Run has been dedicated to raising funds and awareness for individuals living with Sickle Cell disease.  This event is not just about running; it’s about coming together as a community to support a vital cause and make a real difference in the lives of those affected by this challenging condition.
 
The race will begin at 8 a.m. and registration opens at 6:30 a.m.
Walkers are not timed.

Race Routes:
5K Route:  4th St. North to Spanish Town, East to 5th St., North to Capitol Access, East to Capitol Lake, West to 3rd St., North to River Road, U-turn South to Spanish Town, East to to 4th St., South to North Blvd.
1 Mile Route:  North on 4th St. to Spanish Town, U-turn South on 4th St. to North Blvd.
 

Packet Pickup (Location, Date & Time):
Participants will be able to pick up race packages on Friday, August 22, 2025.  More details to come.
Race packages not picked up on Friday will be available at the registration table on race day starting at 6:30 a.m. Registration will be available on race day. Please bring cash or checks made out to the Sickle Cell Association of South Louisiana.

Cultivation Nation Triathlon - Saturday, 8/30/25 In Person Race

Cultivation Nation Tri
600 yard swim: point to point 600 yard swim in Flint Creek Reservoir. Mostly flat swim, no boat traffic, no standing/walking.

17 mile bike: 17 miles from transition through the park to Hwy 29 to countryside OUT and BACK (NEW IN 2017). Moderately hilly. Couple of good climbs. From Flint Creek, turn left on Hwy 29, turn right on Oil Well, turn right to stay on Oil Well UNTIL Big Four, TURN at CONE and head back to Flint Creek Park.

3.1 mile run: challenging 3.1 miles from transition to mostly hard packed trail out and back.

CajunMan Triathlon - Sunday, 9/07/25 In Person Race

This race is a tradition, for all endurance fiends! 1/2 mile of swimming in Airport Lake, 20 miles of pedaling on the roads of Lafayette Parish, and 3.1 miles on foot through the grounds of the Lafayette Regional Airport.  Whether a beginner doing their first open water triathlon or an experienced triathlete looking for one of the best races on the Gulf Coast, this is the event!!

Race Distances

The SWIM -- 1/2 mile or 400 meter beginner
This is an open water swim. Water temperatures will most likely be in the mid-70F range. Use of wet suits is subject to USA Triathlon rules. The wetsuit call will be made after temperatures are taken race morning. Bring your wetsuit if you are so inclined. There will be boats and other water safety aid available during the swim. You should be able to swim at least ½ mile before deciding to enter this event. All swimmers will be required to wear swim caps, which will be provided.
THE BIKE -- 20 miles
New and improved route that avoids the worst sections on Garber Rd.    All turns will be marked. Volunteers will be on the course but you are to stay aware of the surroundings and to know the course. 

THE RUN -- 5K (3.1 miles)
The run will start and finish near the transition area near Airport Lake. The course will include the roads within the Lafayette Regional Airport. The course will be marked and volunteers will be on the course. There will be at least 2 possibilities to pass an aid station on the run. THERE ARE 3 WATER ON THE RUN. AT THE START OF THE RUN, MILE 1, HALF-WAY, MILE 2 AND RIGHT BEFORE THE FINISH. The aid stations will offer water, fluid replacement drinks, and encouragement. 

Relay Teams
Don't want to do the whole race? Come race as a team! Each team member will compete in one of the individual sports. Relay teams must have a minimum of 2 participants. (Yes, one team member can do 2 sports while the other team member does the other sport.)

USA Triathlon Sanctioned Race
This race is being sanctioned with USAT. You, including all relay team members, must be a licensed USA Triathlon member at the time of registration or buy a one-day license to participate for $15.00. you can buy one one our website in the store along with your registration.  NOT NECESSARY FOR 5K
